Make it stand out
Lesser labels would have their copy about an event this close to Christmas lean lazily on that proximity to the festivities. They would garishly wrap cliched tinsel around all of the essential information regarding the event, likely suggest that attendees were akin to elves or reindeer at a push and make bold claims about looming, sauced-up familial disagreements being remedied by bassweight. Well, we aren’t those kinds of record labels. We’re Mal Recordings and 12th Isle, god dammit, and we believe that the little baby Jesus and contemporary club culture shouldn’t be anywhere near each other.
These are the cold, hard brass tacks: on the 19th of December, year of our little baby lord 2025, we will be combining forces in The Flying Duck to bring from Japan the most recent Mal signee, Element, to you, the perfectly normal, not remotely elvish club goer. Joining him to help celebrate the release (and only the release) of ‘Motion Exchange’ are Elle Andrews, Jon K, Fergus Clark and Lewis Lowe. They will play music, you will dance. You will leave, filled with a sense of mirth and high spirits completely unrelated to the season. Capiche? We don’t want to hear anything about sleigh bells, Michael Caine Muppets movies or whatever figgy pudding happens to be, okay? Great. See you there.
Element - Motion Exchange now available on Bandcamp and any record shop worth their salt. Wild, propulsive dancefloor workouts rooted in the classic UK dub sound taking in techno and industrial influences along the way. 'Seriously next level dub mutations for the head and the feet'
