We are now looking for an Assistant General Manager to work closely with the General Manager. FoH team and staff from other teams to ensure that the Flying Duck remains a vibrant, attractive and welcoming bar and events space for all that venture down those historic stairs!

The Flying Duck has gone under a transformative period and we're excited about what the future will bring.  With an exciting late night programme and a diverse mix of events alongside the ongoing development of our late night Apollo bar this position represents a great opportunity to come on board and make an immediate impact.

If you are interested in the role, you'll be expected to have demonstrative experience in the following:

  • Previous event and hospitality experience - preferably from a venue background

  • Clear previous hospitality management experience with an understanding of financial performance indicators

  • A keen eye on service and presentation particularly as to how these things relate to running successful events

  • A pro-active and adaptive attitude to problem solving.

  • An ability to guide & lead team members through service in a patient and effective way

  • A good working knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and cocktails and current trends in the industry

The Assistant Manager role is primarily service based although you will also have time for administrative duties.You should expect a very hands-on approach and as is usual with hospitality and venue work; expect evenings, late nights and weekends.
